Cops and Parents Taser Child

Posted in World Around Us by Ryan Hernandez on November 19, 2009

How far will the government go in aiding parents in disciplining children?  Should a parent be tasered for losing control and becoming ineffective in parenting a child?

I am concerned with what using electric force, handcuffs, and a police car do to a girl psychologically simply because she does not want to go to bed.  Imagine how the girl will turn out due to this tragic use of force as she grows up.

Children aren’t old enough to have sex or be married because they “cannot think for themselves coherently” but they can feel the rod of discipline and order for making a decision to act in unruly manner.  Something is wrong with this?
Shame on you mom and shame on you officer.

Cop Tases 10-Year-Old Girl

Arkansas mother suggested stun gun treatment for unruly daughter

NOVEMBER 18–An Arkansas cop tasered an unruly 10-year-old girl after her mother called police to report that the child was crying, screaming, and refusing to go to bed. The tased girl, Kiara Medlock, is about 65 pounds and 4′ 6″, according to her father. Anthony Medlock, a truck driver who does not live with the fifth grader and her mother, provided TSG with a recent photo of his daughter, which can be seen at right. According to the below Ozark Police Department report, when Officer Dustin Bradshaw arrived at the residence last Thursday, he found the girl “screaming, kicking, and resisting every time her mother tried to touch her.” Bradshaw added that, “Her mother told me to tase her if I needed to.” After Kiara continued to refuse her mother’s instructions, the cop concluded that “there was not going to be a peaceful resolution of the issue.” Bradshaw warned the girl that she was “going to jail,” but the child continued kicking and crying and resisted his attempt to handcuff her. During the tussle, Kiara “struck me with her legs and feet in the groin, reported Bradshaw, who countered with a brief “stun to her back” with his Taser. The child, not surprisingly, “immediately stopped resisting and was placed into handcuffs. She would not walk on her own and I had to carry her to my police car.” Kiara was then transported to a youth shelter. (1 page)

A Father’s Love…

Posted in World Around Us by Ryan Hernandez on June 16, 2008

In light of Father’s Day, I have decided to write about something in regards to Father’s Day that hopefully encourages you as it has encouraged me.

What is an amazing father? Who would be a father truly worth such a day as Father’s Day? Sure it may be just as any other day but somehow it has been selected as a day to recognize fathers. Many of us would jump up and down and scream that it is our dad that is the world’s greatest. Our father the hero! Others would say nothing more about their father than the fact that all they did was help create you. Some never grew up with a father. Still, others have been raised by a man not their father. In any case, if you had the chance to write your dad an email, give him a phone call, spend time with him in person, went out to eat, gave him a gift, or if you even remembered his existence; I would like to ask you to consider our heavenly Father as well!

But first! I would like you to watch this video as I hope it paints for you a portrait of the love, adoration, and commitment that God has for you and for me.

Due to the inability to post a GodTube video I have posted the link to the video. http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=5268c403589c52e30080 (more…)
